It was three days into the tour and the Consider it Mutual boys had already managed to make a mess of the bus, what a surprise . Really, he shouldn’t have expected anything less. After working for them for so long, he knew them well enough to understand that Declan’s OCD wasn’t nearly enough to keep the place decent looking. Connor ran his fingers through his growing hair and sighed somewhat exasperatedly, wondering how out of line it would be to just give the place a little tidy up. He was freshly showered and the body wash he used was on the girly side when it came to the fragrance, however it wasn’t very strong. The only way somebody could really smell the sweet pea violet mix would be if they hugged him, and there was nobody except maybe Cassie who he would be comfortable hugging. She was hands down his best friend, and it was odd considering their personalities, but he loved and appreciated her all the same. Whether or not she saw him in the same light was beyond him, but he liked to think he was at least highly regarded on her end, if not to the same extent that she was to him. Connor started with picking up little trash things and throwing them away, such as food wrappers, candy wrappers courtesy of Teddy, and finally cans of soda and occasionally beer. He didn’t really mind cleaning up as a whole, though. It made him feel like he was useful for something, though he knew the boys wouldn’t appreciate it any more than if he supplied them with alcohol for a year. He knew they were too busy being… them, to feel any kind of thanks at all towards someone like him, and he accepted that, he just wouldn’t mind being thanked here and there. He finished and took note that though he made it look nice, it wouldn’t last. Thankfully, the boys were out for probably the remainder of the night and he was free to relax. He was alone on the bus because after their set, he was dismissed from his technical duties and came back. He didn’t know if the rest of the crew was around, but he figured they would make themselves apparent if they were. He hoped that maybe Cassie would show up, but he didn’t get his hopes up – it was always better not to expect anything. He gave the bus a once over and went over to the fridge to get a beer, setting that down on the coffee table before temporarily retreating to his bunk to get a comic book. Connor had nothing against watching TV, but there was a new issue of The Walking Dead and he had it, so he was going to read it and just enjoy a beer. He had a little box of comic books that he kept out of sight, not wanting them to be sabotaged or worse. It wasn’t like they were incredibly valuable to him, but they were something to keep him entertained. Connor sat down on the couch after taking his shoes off and kicking them under the table, beginning to read and drink his beer occasionally. About ten minutes went by before Duncan, the band’s screamer, came in rambling about something in German, though he paid no mind to Connor and that wasn’t necessarily abnormal. From what little German he remembered, he got from him that someone hadn’t paid him for… drugs? Unsure, Connor returned to reading without further pondering and in moments, the foreign male was gone and out once again. WORDS: 604 TAGGED: Cassie! Night time was always the hardest part of the day for Cassie. During the day she was always busy with the band and working at the merch table, but after the bands packed up and the band-crazed fans decided to give up trying to stalk their favourite members and go home, there was nothing more for Cassie to do. Well other than party of course. She was in a funk lately and usually getting drunk and having fun with some guy would snap her out of it, but it just wasn’t cutting it tonight. She was hanging outside with a bunch of loud, obnoxious, drunk roadies and decided none of them were worth her time. She grabbed her jean jacket off the back of a chair and turned to leave. One of the younger roadies offered to walk her to her tour bus, but she declined, claiming she could take care of herself. She knew exactly what would get her out of this funk and she knew exactly where to find him.
Connor was Cassie’s really only best friend. She never let herself get close to people, nor did many people want her around because of her attitude, but she had a soft spot in her heart for Connor and she figured he did too if he was putting up with her for this long. She kicked her boots against the dirt as she walked, taking her time and enjoying the fresh air. Tonight was relatively quiet compared to most nights and she was taking advantage of that. When she finally reached the Consider It Mutual bus, she grabbed the door handle and quietly prayed that Connor would be alone on the bus. She loved the band more than anything, but she really needed some alone time with her best friend.
When she climbed the few steps that brought you up to the interior of the bus, the first thing she noticed was the absence of junk lying around. This was proof that Connor was in fact in here somewhere. She called out, ’Connor, baby, you in here?’ She walked past the bunks to the back where she saw her favourite boy hanging out on the couch with a comic book. She smiled to herself. She loved his geeky side, it was one of the things she loved most about him. She walked over to the couch and sat right on top of him, wiggling her butt into his lap. ’Am I interrupting you?’ She asked, smiling widely. She glaced at the beer on the table and picked it up. She looked at Connor and then back at the beer. Raising it slightly, in a cheering motion she took a large swig and placed it back on the table. She slid off of Connors lap and plopped herself on the couch beside him, taking off her shoes and crossing her legs. ’I’m bored, Con. Let’s do something. You can read comics laaaaater.’ She whined, poking him in the arm.

There were very few comics that could keep Connor enticed for long periods of time; normally he had to switch out and read a different one for a couple of minutes to keep it fun, but that wasn’t the case with TWD. It was so fascinating to him, and he could read it for hours on end, really. He once contemplated waiting for maybe five or six issues to come out and read them all in one go, but he couldn’t resist them enough as they came out and ended up just reading them then. He didn’t even realize how fast the time went as he read – soon enough, it was evening and he heard the door open. At first, he didn’t even think twice about it because he didn’t have the TV on and he wasn’t truly in the way of any of the boys. Besides, he’d move if he had to. He was just so into the comic book that he tuned out everything little around him – the only thing he’d be able to hear would be a voice. Connor made this a habit when he was younger because his half-sister Charlee was the type to be noisy, and unless she was talking to him, he preferred not to hear whatever it was she was doing. It wasn’t that Charlee annoyed him; it was just that when it came to reading, his concentration levels could only go so high. Still, he got it done and managed to keep an open ear for when someone needed him. His eyes lifted immediately from the page but he held the comic book sturdily in place when he heard Cassie, a small but genuinely happy smile appearing across his face. “Over here,” he called, closing the book halfway and resting it lower so that she was in his eye-sight, not the book. He couldn’t help chuckling when she wiggled her way into his lap and he grinned at her, shaking his head. "Never. The comic book was interrupting you,”he said and winked, putting his TWD to the side. He watched as she took a drink from his beer and sat next to him, smiling still. “Okay, okay,” he laughed as he stood up, brushing a piece of his hair behind his ear as he picked the comic up and tapped her head lightly with it, "let me just put this away.” Connor left and returned in less than thirty seconds, given that his bed wasn’t too far away from them. Once he returned he took a seat next to her, “got any ideas for what to do?” He asked, raising an eyebrow – he never decided what they did, but that was okay with him because he never knew what they should do. Besides, he was more comfortable if the other person made the decision. WORDS: 473 TAGGED: Cassie!
